I finally got a chance to roam the CES floor and was able to score a tour of PowerMat Wireless Charging. This might be my favorite technology so far and I'm excited to hear we'll be doing a demo of the product on today's live Tekzilla. Just a few days ago, I was whining about how messy my desk was with wires.

These guys have figured out how to control the energy by proximity using magnetic conduction, and the prices are not steep at all - $100 for the mat. This could potentially transform the way we power our kitchen appliances, the televisions in our living rooms, and perhaps eliminate the need for power adapters in your vehicle for your peripherals. Apparently, the transfer of energy is more efficient than your typical wall/plug charge.
